SkyWest takes first E175 for United

Utah-based regional carrier SkyWest Airlines took delivery of its first Embraer 175 enhanced aircraft today.

The E175 is configured with 76-seats and will enter service between Chicago O’Hare International and Ronald Reagan Washington National airports on behalf of United Airlines on 17 May.

SkyWest will take 40 E175 enhanced aircraft for United and has a conditional order for another 60 aircraft subject to the airline securing contracts to operate the aircraft.

Chicago-based United will begin taking delivery of another 30 E175 enhanced aircraft for its regional fleet from early April. Mesa Airlines will operate the aircraft.
