European charter and wet-lease specialist Small Planet Airlines has added an Airbus A320 to the fleet of its Polish operation and plans further expansion with the type in future.

The International Aero Engines V2500-A5-powered aircraft (MSN 739, SP-HAC) was delivered earlier this month and is due to start scheduled operations in April.

Small Planet Airlines now has a fleet of six Boeing 737-300s and two A320s, which it operates from bases in Poland, Lithuania and Italy.

The carrier, which is owned by Lithuania-headquartered Avia Solutions Group, wants to operate from more European countries by 2014 and expand its fleet with additional A320s, a spokeswoman tells Flightglobal Pro.
