French engine manufacturer Snecma has selected Eaton to provide oil-debris monitoring technology for its CFM Leap engines.

The contract is valued at more than $100 million over the life of the programme, Eaton says.

Its oil-debris monitoring system captures, retains and analyses oil debris particles to determine if critical engine component failures are imminent.

The technology uses Eaton's Lubriclone debris separator, a quantitative debris monitor sensor and a signal conditioner.
