Fiji has agreed to manage the upper air space over the Solomon Islands after the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Tuesday.

In addition, the MoU allows the Solomon Islands' Ministry of Civil Aviation to work with Airports Fiji on the country's training and technical requirements.

This may take the form of air traffic services (ATS) from Nadi airport and training at the Fiji National University's School of Aviation, added Fiji's civil aviation minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
