Southern Air has taken delivery of a Boeing 747-400ERF from AWAS in a transaction that see the US cargo operator becoming a new customer for the Dublin-based lessor.
The General Electric CF6-powered aircraft (MSN 35171) was built in 2006.
It was delivered new to Jade Cargo International and acquired by a vehicle controlled by Pegasus Avation under a sale and leaseback transaction.
The aircraft is one of the six 747-400ERFs financed by German bank HSH Nordbank.
Jade Cargo ceased operations in November 2012. Its six-aircraft fleet has been parked since.
