Southwest announces executive appointments

Low-cost carrier Southwest Airlines has made a number of senior executive appointments.

Andrew Watterson joins the Dallas-based carrier from Hawaiian Airlines as Southwest's vice president of network planning and performance. He was previously vice president of planning and revenue management at Hawaiian.

Sherry Staber has been appointed to the new role of vice president of business transformation solutions, operations and enterprise management in the airline's technology division. She was previously vice president of corporate solutions at J.C. Penney.

The airline has promoted Bill Tiffany, its maintenance senior director of supply chain management to vice president of supply chain management. It has also appointed its senior vice president of operations Brian Hirshman to senior vice president of technical operations. Hirshman replaces Greg Wells, who becomes senior vice president of operational performance.

In addition, Southwest has promoted its senior director of loyalty and partnerships in marketing Ryan Green to managing director of customer development.
