Southwest Airlines has added 140 engines to its OnPoint service agreement with GE Aviation to maintain and overhaul the CFM International CFM56-7B engines that power the Boeing 737-700 and 737-800.

The new agreement announced on 23 July adds to a 2012 deal that covered 156 CFM56-7Bs powering exclusively the 737-800, GE Aviation says. The engine maker and one-half of the CFM consortium with Snecma will now service 40 extra CFM56-7Bs for the 737-800 and 100 CFM56-7Bs for the 737-700.

OnPoint includes overhaul, on wing support, spare parts, component repairs, technology upgrades, engine leasing and diagnostics, but can be tailored to specific customers.
