Southwest names Delehant as VP of strategic planning

Southwest Airlines has promoted Mike Delehant to vice president of strategic planning.

He succeeds previous vice president of strategic planning, Kathleen Wayton, who recently became Southwest Airlines' vice-president of technology, commercial portfolio.

Delehant joined Southwest in 2002 and spent his first five years as a leader in the technology department. Later, he was promoted to director of strategic planning.

Most recently, he served the airline as a senior director of strategic planning.

Prior to Southwest, Delehant was a principal consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Dallas.
