Southwest Airlines has named Tammy Romo as the chief financial officer and the senior vice president of finance, effective 20 September.
She will succeed Laura Wright, who will retire.
Romo served the carrier in various roles including director of investor relations, vice-president treasurer, vice-president controller, and vice-president of financial planning.
The carrier says that Romo will retain her leadership over the financial planning and analysis, and strategic planning functions from her current role as the CFO.
Southwest adds that Wright will remain with the company up to the year-end to assist with the leadership change.
