Southwest to replace AirTran in Branson

Low-fare carrier Southwest Airlines will take over flights operated by its subsidiary AirTran Airways to Branson, Missouri, in 2013, according to the airport.

The Dallas-based carrier will announce its schedule from Branson next year, says the airport.

AirTran flies from Branson to Atlanta, Baltimore-Washington, Chicago Midway, Houston Hobby and Orlando.
