Southwest unit revenues increase by up to 5% in July

Southwest Airlines estimates its passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) increased by up to 5% in June, compared with the same month a year earlier.

Passenger traffic, measured in revenue passenger miles, fell 0.7% year-on-year during the month, while available seat miles grew 0.6%, resulting in a 1.1 percentage point decrease in load factor to 83.5%.

Southwest's revenue passenger numbers fell by 3.2% to 9.89 million passengers in July.
