Spain touts transports to Venezuela

Venezuela has been offered rights by the Spanish government to purchase 10 EADS Casa C-295 military transports and another two C-295 maritime patrol aircraft. Spanish prime minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero announced the offer on 1 April during a summit meeting with Venezuela president Hugo Chavez, who has made several such non-contractual commitments for potential military equipment deals that include Russian helicopters and Brazilian trainers.
