Spanish carrier Orbest Orizonia Airlines has filed for bankruptcy and ceased operations.
The airline's website is offline and it could not be contacted for comment. However, the bankruptcy filing has been confirmed by the UK's Civil Aviation Authority and Spanish aviation safety agency AESA.
The charter carrier, formerly branded as Iberworld, had been in talks with Barcelo Group in a bid to keep flying despite its parent, Spanish tour operator Orizonia, filing for bankruptcy protection.
According to a source at the airline, an internal communiqué issued to employees in February indicated that a rescue deal had been reached with Barcelo Group.
