Indian low-cost carrier SpiceJet has set up a new base in New Delhi for its Bombardier Q400 turboprops to serve more destinations in North India.
This announcement came after the carrier took delivery of five Q400s from Bombardier last week. The base is its third, following the ones in Hyderabad and Chennai, says SpiceJet.
Starting from 12 July, it will launch daily services from New Delhi to Indore, and twice daily services from New Delhi to Amritsar and Chandigarh. On the same day, it will also launch four times weekly Amritsar-Srinagar and thrice weekly Chandigarh-Srinagar services.
A twice daily service on the New Delhi-Dehradun route will start from 19 July.
SpiceJet has already taken delivery of 12 Q400 turboprop aircraft from its order of 15.
