Spirit Airlines will continue to expand service at Houston Intercontinental Airport, by adding non-stop service from the Texan city to Denver and Detroit from 13 June.
The new Denver-Houston flight will continue on to Orlando, while Detroit-Houston service will continue on to Dallas/Fort Worth, says the Florida-based carrier.
"Spirit Airlines continues to find new business opportunities within Houston's thriving economy," says Houston aviation director Mario Diaz. "Since arriving last September, Spirit Airlines has repeatedly stepped forward with new investments in new nonstop routes and it's the air passengers in Houston who are reaping the benefits."
Spirit offers daily nonstop service from Houston to Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Las Vegas and Orlando. Daily nonstop service between Houston and Los Angeles begins on 25 April.
Spirit will compete against Frontier Airlines and United Airlines on Houston Intercontinental-Denver, schedules in Innovata show. Southwest Airlines also offers non-stop service between Houston Hobby and Denver. On Houston-Detroit, Spirit will compete against United.
