US low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines has contracted Dallas-based AMG Flite Components for radome maintenance across its Airbus A320 fleet.

The repair shop is part of Aero Maintenance Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance.

Under the fixed-cost, multi-year deal - which spans the full range of maintenance services, from light repairs to full overhaul - Flite will place spare radomes for Spirit's approximately 50-strong A320 fleet at a number of operational bases.

Flite won the contract partly because of its ability to perform transmissivity tests on quartz radomes in-house, adds AFI KLM E&M.
