Swiss maintenance provider SR Technics has named the senior management team for its component repair shop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which will open by year end.
The wholly owned subsidiary Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Aerospace has also recruited 21 Malaysian technicians, including four certifying staff members, for the new facility that is to focus on labour-intensive component repair work.
The employees will undergo a five-month training programme, comprising two months classroom instruction at local training partner D'viation Solutions, and the remainder 'on-the-job' at SR Technics' component repair shop in Zürich, says the MRO provider.
Heinz Freimann, formerly head of SR Technics' component maintenance division, has been named general manager of the Kuala Lumpur shop. He has been working in different positions at the MRO provider over the past 15 years, which included the implementation of lean manufacturing principles.
Christian Meyer, who has headed the Malaysian repair shop project since October 2011, has been appointed head of finance and shared services, where he will be responsible for integrating the facility with Mubadala's existing MRO facilities in Abu Dhabi and Zurich.
Julien Robineau, who joined SR Technics last September, will be head of supply chain in Kuala Lumpur, while Joel Lim will be responsible for quality and running the day-to-day business as head of maintenance operations.
Lim has been recruited from Malaysian cargo carrier Transmile Air Services, where he was general manager for engineering. He joins SR Technics on 1 June.
Former Alstom Asia Pacific human resource specialist Sivadass Krishnan has been appointed as HR manager, while Jimmy Khaw Teik Lim joins SR Technics from Hamilton Sundstrand to become the repair shop's quality and safety manager.
