Singapore-based maintenance provider ST Aerospace plans to develop technical training software and set up an international training centre network with Minnesota flight school and simulation specialist Aerosim Technologies.
The companies have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop computer-based training (CBT) packages to qualify maintenance technicians for Airbus A320, A330, A340, A350 and A380 aircraft and Boeing 737, 747, 767, 777, 787 and MD-11 types.
The training programmes will be designed for basic engineering and type-rating courses under the regulations of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
ST Aerospace and Aerosim want to introduce the programmes at their existing training facilities and additional locations to form a global network of maintenance training centres.
Aerosim has thus far focused on pilot training. It has two academies in Houston, Texas and Sanford near Orlando, Florida, where it provides basic flight training and type rating courses.
