Singapore-based maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) firm ST Aerospace will soon be involved in the passenger-to-freighter (PTF) conversion of a new aircraft type.

"We're in the midst of looking at a new aircraft type beyond the Boeing 757s and are in discussions with several parties about investing in a new PTF project," ST Aerospace president Chang Cheow Teck said in an interview with Flightglobal Pro.

He declined to provide more details, but said a deal could be concluded by the third quarter of this year.

The PTF conversion programme for 757-200s is a big part of the MRO's business.
