ST Aerospace secures S$450m in Q4 contracts

ST Aerospace has secured contracts worth Singapore dollars (S$) 450 million ($367 million) in the fourth quarter of 2012.

In the quarter, it redelivered 165 aircraft for airframe maintenance and modification work. It also completed the conversion of five Boeing 757-200 to freighters, bringing the total number of passenger-to-freighter redelivery to 16 in 2012.

ST Aero also broke ground to add a new hangar at its Changi facility in Singapore during the period. The new hangar, scheduled to start operations by the third quarter of 2013, will be able to accommodate two narrowbody aircraft.

Its US affiliate VT Aerospace, meanwhile, completed the acquisition of a 100% equity interest stake in cabin reconfiguration specialist Volant Aerospace.

In the VIP aircraft completions sector, Aeria Luxury Interiors secured a contract for the interior modification of a Boeing 767-200ER VIP aircraft. This covers project management, design, engineering and installation.

In addition, ST Aero also processed 9,847 components, 61 landing gears and 78 engines for commercial and military customers in the quarter.
