Thai new carrier R Airlines plans to start services on 19 December from Bangkok's Don Mueang international airport to Frankfurt.
The start-up airline will operate a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft with twice weekly services on the route, according to its website.
R Airlines says it has secured financial back up from the leading national Bank in Thailand. It has also received funds from both individual and corporate investors.
The airline has secured two Boeing 737-400s for the regional services in the Indian market as well as mainland China. R Airlines also announced a daily domestic service to Phuket and will compete directly with NokAir which operates twice daily services with Boeing 737-800s.
