Venice-based start-up Volotea will set up a summertime operating base in Ibiza and begin serving the Balearic Islands from 15 June.
The base allows Volotea to add 22 routes to European destinations: 13 from Ibiza, five from Palma de Mallorca and four from Menorca.
Volotea's two other bases, at Venice Marco Polo and Nantes, will start operations on 5 April and 1 June respectively.
The Spanish-linked carrier is also launching services from Malaga to Asturias and Saragossa and from Seville to Vigo.
Overall, Volotea will now offer 76 routes out of 53 cities in 10 European countries.
