Stelios' family drops stake in EasyJet to 35.7%

EasyJet founder and outspoken shareholder Stelios Haji-Ioannou has cut his family's stake in the airline to 35.68%.

In a stock market announcement today EasyJet says it has been informed by Haji-Ioannou's investment vehicle EasyGroup that shares held by the family have crossed the 36% level on the way down on a new percentage shareholding of 35.68%.

Haji-Ioannou, who has long been a vocal critic of the airline's expansion strategy, still holds through his family nearly 142 million of EasyJet almost 400 million ordinary shares.
