The Russian air force is to deploy its first full regiment of 24 Sukhoi Su-34 bombers by 2010, according to defence minister Sergey Ivanov. Moscow plans to buy two of the aircraft this year, followed by a further six in 2007 and 10 a year from 2008. The Su-34 will enter series production at the Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Association.
