Armenian grounded carrier Armavia has settled the financial dispute with Sukhoi over payments for the Superjet 100 taken back by the airframer.

Speaking at the recent Paris air show, Sukhoi's civil division chief Andrei Kalinovsky said Armavia, which received the first serially-produced Superjet in 2011 and declared bankruptcy on 1 April, had cleared its debt.

"This means the aircraft will cease to be under the court order and we'll be able to hand it over to another operator. Such a decision is to be taken shortly," he says.

According to Sukhoi's annual report for 2012, Armavia owed it Rb540 million ($17.4 million) in arrears for the Superjet it had operated since April 2012.
