Sukhoi has formally received the Russian type certificate for its Superjet 100 aircraft during a ceremony held yesterday in Moscow.
The certification campaign, undertaken with four flying prototypes of the twinjet, covered 2,594h across 1,087 flights.
Sukhoi also conducted static and fatigue testing on two other airframes. "During its certification the aircraft visited over 20 airports in Russia, the CIS and Europe, proving its airport acceptance at all destinations - even remote ones," it states.
European certification will follow later this year, Sukhoi adds.
Russian airworthiness authority ARMAK states that the jet is designed to transport a 12,245kg payload and has a maximum take-off weight of 45,880kg, with maximum take-off thrust of 7,700kg. The type has a maximum cruise altitude of 12,200m.
