Sukhoi Superjet engine manufacturer PowerJet has named Claude Poulain as its new chairman and chief executive, succeeding Jacques Desclaux.

The company says Desclaux is "taking up other duties".

Poulain began his career with PowerJet partner Snecma and has held roles at powerplant manufacturer CFM International.

He headed the marketing for the CFM56 and PowerJet SaM146 engines, before being appointed as Snecma's senior vice-president for commercial strategy, covering its commercial engines operation.
