Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) has secured anti-trust immunity (ATI) to add Swiss International Air Lines and Austrian Airlines to its Japan-Europe joint venture with Lufthansa.

The country's ministry of land, infrastructure, transport and tourism approved the addition of Swiss and Austrian, subsidiaries of Lufthansa.

ANA plans to launch joint sales and pricing products with the three European Star Alliance members from spring 2013.

"I am delighted that we have secured approval from the ATI to expand our joint venture with Lufthansa, which effectively doubles the number of airlines involved," says ANA president and chief executive Shinichiro Ito.
