Swiss Aviation Training (SAT) has extended its technical training programme to the Airbus A320 family.

The Swiss International Air Lines subsidiary has so far offered maintenance type rating courses for regional jets and turboprops while training for large aircraft has been conducted through Lufthansa Technical Training.

Now the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has granted the Zurich-based company Part 147 approval for A318, A319, A320 and A321 aircraft equipped either with CFM International CFM56 or International Aero Engines V2500 powerplants.

SAT said it will employ simulation-based maintenance training software to convey both theoretical and practical content during the B1 and B2 courses.
