Swiss International Air Lines' chief commercial officer, Holger Hatty, will step down at the beginning of 2013 after serving more than three years in the position.

Hatty will leave the company for "personal reasons" and his departure is entirely by amicable agreement, the airline says in a statement.

Before joining Swiss as chief commercial officer in July 2009, Hatty had held various executive positions within the Lufthansa Group for 18 years.

The overall management of Swiss's commercial division will be assumed by chief executive Harry Hohmeister until a new chief commercial officer is appointed.
