EADS subsidiary Eurocopter has secured a second customer for its EC635 advanced training and utility helicopter, with Switzerland having signed a contract to acquire 18 of the light twins to replace its Aerospatiale Alouette IIIs. Berne also last week placed an order for two EC135s for VIP and government transport duties. Deliveries of the 20 new aircraft will take place between early 2008 and late 2009, with Swiss firm Ruag to assemble 16 of the airframes. EC635 launch customer Jordan has so far taken delivery of nine aircraft and recently signed an order to acquire an additional four, says Eurocopter.
