Sydney airport has reported a 4.1% year-on-year increase in overall passenger numbers to 3.32 million for July.
The airport's international passenger numbers grew by 5.5% to 1.13 million, while its domestic passenger numbers went up by 3.5% to 2.18 million.
The airport says that a number of carriers increased services over the period or operated flights with higher capacity aircraft.
"A number of carriers achieved load factors of above 90%, reflecting materially improved performances against [the prior corresponding period]," says chief executive Kerrie Mather. "The largest incremental capacity increases came from both recently announced upgauges and increased frequencies."
