TransAsia Airways will be taking delivery of its first widebody aircraft, an Airbus A330-300, at a ceremony in Toulouse on Monday, 26 November 2012.
The Taiwanese carrier's second A330 is scheduled to be delivered in March 2013, a spokesman said when contacted. Both aircraft will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines.
He adds that the aircraft will be deployed on the carrier's Taipei Taoyuan-Singapore service, as well as to various points on Japan's Hokkaido island. TransAsia flies to Sapporo, Hakodate, Asahikawa and Kushiro in Hokkaido.
Apart from the two A330s, the carrier also has 12 Airbus A321neos, six sharklet-equipped A321s and eight ATR 72-600s on order.
It expects to receive all these aircraft by 2022.
