Portuguese airline TAP Portugal has selected Marshall Aerospace to provide interior cabin upgrades for its four Airbus A340 aircraft.
The upgrades will include new seating with enhanced in-flight entertainment systems, the carrier said in a statement.
Under the contract, Marshall Aerospace will be the Aircraft System Integrator, responsible for the installation of the upgrades and the provision of all adaptive modification data.
The company will also certify the upgrades under its Europeam Aviation Safety Agency Part 21J DOA privileges, and will then work through the regulators to provide EASA and US FAA supplementary type certificates.
Preliminary design work for TAP has already started and the first installation is scheduled for February 2012, with the remaining three aircraft scheduled to be upgraded by November 2012.
The installation will be performed at TAP's facilities in Lisbon.
