TAP Maintenance and Engineering Brazil has gained European Aviation Safety Agency approval to support Embraer 170s and 190s.

The Latin American subsidiary of Portuguese MRO provider TAP Maintenance and Engineering has since 2010 been an authorised service centre for all Embraer commercial aircraft types operating under the rule of Brazil's civil aviation authority ANAC and the US Federal Aviation Administration.

But the certificate has now been expanded to include line and base maintenance for EASA-registered Embraer 170 and 190 series regional jets.

Chief executive Nestor Koch says that the Brazilian maintenance provider intends to make further investments to expand its certifications, train staff and improve its technological expertise.
