Russia's aviation regulator has decided to strip Tatarstan Airlines of its air operator's certificate.

Rosaviatsia says the Kazan-based carrier's licence will be annulled on 31 December.

The regulator cites findings that have emerged from an extraordinary inspection of Tatarstan Airlines following the loss of a Boeing 737-500 last month.

These findings, says Rosaviatsia, testify to breaches of certification requirements and regulations governing minimum crew flight-hours, pilot training, and work and rest schedules.
