Boeing has selected a Textron company to supply a full flight simulator for the 737 Max, the re-engined and updated narrowbody entering service in 2017.

TRU Simulation + Training, which Textron rebranded and restructured in April, will provide a complete training suite, including the full-flight simulator, a flat-panel training device and 10 desktop trainers, Boeing says.

Formerly known as Textron Simulation and Training Systems, the company was rebranded and enlarged with the acquisitions of Montreal-based Mechtronix and Florida-based Opinicus late last year.

“We are delighted with the continued trust Boeing has placed in our company, especially within the context of such an important commercial aircraft programme,” says George Karam, vice-president and general manager of Air Transport Simulation at TRU Simulation + Training.
