Low-cost carrier Thai AirAsia plans to add seven Airbus A320 aircraft to its fleet in 2013.
These aircraft, which will grow its fleet from 27 to 34 aircraft by the end of 2013, will be used to increase the airline's presence on domestic, regional and Chinese routes.
"The new Airbus aircraft to arrive in 2013 will be added to Thai AirAsia's network on the most popular routes, especially in China as well as for upcoming destinations, where we plan to continue expansion. They will also provide the opportunity for us to increase our flight frequencies domestically, adding even more convenient travelling time for our passengers," says its chief executive Tassapon Bijleveld.
Thai AirAsia added five A320s in 2012 and expects to achieve its target of operating 48 aircraft by 2015.
