Thai Airways completes Bt4 billion debenture issue

Thai Airways completed a baht (Bt) 4 billion ($124 million) unsecured and unsubordinated debenture issue on 30 August.

The Star Alliance carrier says that the issue was part of a total Bt40 billion debenture programme that was approved by its board in 2010.

The latest issue was conducted in three tranches. The first tranche totals Bt1.25 billion, and has a five year tenor with a fixed 4.58% per annum coupon rate. The second tranche was also for a total value of Bt1.25 billion, but has a seven year tenor with a 4.88% coupon rate, The third tranche, for Bt1.5 billion has a ten year tenor and a 5.16% coupon rate.

Thai says that the debentures were issued in a private placement to institutional investors and high net worth individuals, and underwritten by The Siam Commercial Bank.
