Thai Airways president Sorajak Kasemsuvan has tendered his resignation owing to health problems.
In a Stock Exchange of Thailand release, the carrier has named senior executive vice-president for commercial Chokchai Panyayong as acting president from 2 January 2014.
Kasemsuvan became president on 9 October 2012, replacing Piyasvasti Amranand, who was sacked. Prior to this appointment, he was the chairman of Thai media company MCOT Public Company.
Panyayong was also acting president after Amranand was sacked, until Kasemsuvan took office.
