Thai Airways has selected Airbus's Flight Hour Services (FHS) aftermarket programme for component support on the 11-strong A320 fleet of low-cost subsidiary Thai Smile.

The flag carrier has signed a 15-year "Tailored Support Package" (TSP) contract, covering spares supply, repairs, logistics and tools provisioning for an "extensive scope" of line replaceable units, says the airframer.

It also includes APU and engine nacelle services as well as spare part management through an on-site team of Airbus staff.

Thai Airways signed an equivalent contract for its A380 fleet with the manufacturer in February 2012.

Airbus says the new deal is its first FHS-TSP agreement with a commercial A320 operator.
