UK tour operator Thomas Cook has named former Condor executive Christoph Debus head of air travel.

Effective 1 September, Debus will chair the firm's airline board together with Ralf Teckentrup, chief executive of the German group carrier Condor.

He will be responsible for revising Thomas Cook's airline activities and building an overall strategy for the group's four carriers, the company says.

Debus was Condor's chief financial officer before he joined Air Berlin as chief operating officer in 2009.
