Chinese regional Tianjin Airlines has started using Aerosim Technologies' Embraer 190 flight management system trainer (FMST) as part of its flight crew training programme.

The Aerosim FMST is a personal computer-based training device that allows students to perform pre-flight and in-flight FMS, autopilot, EFIS and navigation procedures while operating in a structured learning or "true free-play" training environment, says Aerosim.

Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.

According to Flightglobal's ACAS database, Tianjin operates 17 E-190s, in addition to other aircraft types.
