Tiger Airways plans to add more services from its newest base at Melbourne's Avalon Airport.
The Australian subsidiary of Singapore-based Tiger Airways will be adding flights to Sydney, Rockhampton, Mackay and Alice Springs, on top of recent announcements of services to Gold Coast, Adelaide and Perth, Tiger says.
"Our new Avalon base now has seven new routes and we are thrilled at the customer response," says Tiger Airways' managing director Crawford Rix.
Flights to Sydney and Mackay will commence 10 November, while services to Rockhampton and Alice Springs will begin the day after, says the low-cost carrier.
Its booking engine shows the Sydney service will be twice-daily, the Rockhampton and Alice Springs services thrice-weekly, and the Mackay service four times weekly.
However, Tiger adds the frequencies are still subject to regulatory approval.
Tiger announced in April that it will be basing two Airbus A320s at Avalon, increasing the number of Tiger Airways aircraft in Australia to 11.
