Tigerair will offer its fares and ancillary services through the Amadeus global distribution system with the two companies recently entering into a new relationship.
The agreement will allow Tigerair’s services to be sold through a wide network of travel agents throughout the Asia Pacific region.
Amadeus Asia Pacific president Angel Gallego says that the agreement demonstrates the continuing evolution of low cost carriers towards traditional distribution platforms.
“As these airlines continue to grow and expand, the travel agency network becomes increasingly important to help them secure reach and scale," he adds. "Our goal is to make it easier for LCCs, like Tigerair to embrace the travel agency sales channel through Amadeus to realise additional revenue opportunities.”
Tigerair announced a similar tie-up with Travelport in November to distribute its fares and ancillary services via that GDS platform.
