Tigerair has signed a new agreement with Travelport to make its fares available to travel agents through the global distribution system.
Under the agreement, Tigerair will become the first carrier in Asia-Pacific to use Travelport’s merchandising platform, which will allow the carrier to sell ancillary services, such as checked baggage, meals and allocated seating.
The agreement covers all four Tigerair carriers in Singapore, Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
As with other low-cost carriers, Tigerair prefers to have passengers book direct through its website and call centre. However, it also offers some channels for agents to book via a dedicated website.
