Timco Aviation Services' interiors engineering and manufacturing division Timco Aerosystems plans to expand its aircraft interiors operations with the addition of a new facility in Wallburg, North Carolina.

The US maintenance, repair and overhaul provider plans to invest $2.75 million in the facility. The expansion will be aided in part by development incentive support from the State of North Carolina, North Carolina Community Colleges, Davidson County and the Town of Wallburg.

As part of the incentive package, TIMCO will need to meet progressive milestones on new job creation and performance in coming years.

The move is part of the company's larger plan to expand its business producing aircraft interiors products, led by its new fuel-saving line of 'FeatherWeight' galleys, lavatories and passenger seating.

Rick Salanitri, president of Timco Aerosystems, says: "With increased demand by aircraft operators and owners for Aerosystems' new light weight cabin products and our interiors retrofit project capabilities, it became clear that we needed to add to our existing operations at our Greensboro facility and at our Brice Seating facility in California".
