An expanded domestic passenger terminal at Tokyo's Haneda Airport will commence operations from 13 October.
Terminal two, which is mostly used by All Nippon Airways (ANA), will double in size to 49,400 sq m, says the airport.
Construction had started in December 2008, says Haneda, which spent 19 billion yen ($222.5 million) on the project.
The expanded terminal will have more check-in counters, security clearance points and baggage claim areas, which will be used by ANA.
"The expansion will help ease the crowding at the terminal and cut waiting time for passengers," says an ANA spokeswoman.
