Russian carrier Transaero is preparing to take delivery of a third Tupolev Tu-214, and insists it is not experiencing technical problems with the type.
Transaero has defended the twin-jet's reliability, following complaints by some Tu-204 operators which prompted a vow of action by manufacturer United Aircraft.
Although the airline has previously grumbled about the availability of spares, director general Olga Pleshakova insists it has never criticised operation of the type.
Transaero has used the Tu-214 for two years and has had "no problems" with the jets' Aviadvigatel PS-90 engines.
It has a contract for 10 Tu-214s and taken delivery of two. "The airline is ready to implement the contract fully and, for its part, is doing everything necessary," it adds.
"We have completed the process for receiving a third Tu-214 which will be delivered in the near future."
