Transaero has recorded 25% growth in passenger traffic for the summer season from April to October 2012.

The airline carried more than 7.1 million passengers across more than 160 routes.

During the period Transaero launched 34 new routes, 27 of which were nonstop international flights from the Russian regions to leisure destinations.

Flights to Barcelona were also launched from 13 Russian cities, while Bangkok services were offered from nine Russian cities.

Domestically, passenger traffic between Moscow and St Petersburg doubled over the summer period.

From April to October, the airline transported 41,600t of cargo and mail - 32% more than during the same period last year.

The carrier added 15 aircraft to its fleet, including four Boeing 747-400, one 767 and 10 737 aircraft.
